WikiResearcher is a new project adminstered by the OER Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that provides leadership, international networking and support for educators, researchers and educational institutions to achieve their objectives using free and open approaches.
You will not find much content on this site. In the traditions of open and collaborative development processes we release early and we will work together as an international community to plan and develop the WikiResearcher initiative. We need your help in building a sustainable open ecosystem serving the formal education sector. Visit our Planning page and join our WikiResearcher discussion list.

|WikiReseacher aims to foster and support the development of an open community of researchers who will use wiki-based peer collaboration approaches to:
Replicating open alternatives to mirror the core functions of the univeristy, that is: Teaching

through collaborative research projects on WikiResearcher
; and Community Service
and outreach through the OER Foundation's
free training initiatives like Learning4Content
- Design and plan collaborative research projects from the conceptualisation of a research idea through to the development of an openly published research plan.
- Execute research projects by recording progress, data and facilitating open networked discussion of the findings for the duration of the research project.
- Dissemination of research findings commencing with the open authoring of research reports and articles in the wiki for potential publication in peer reviewed publications. We aim to build strong relationships with peer-reviewed open access journals where WikiResearcher outputs are formally published for the academic community.
Think of WikiResearcher as an open international network of researchers to compliment the teaching and research activities of WikiEducators within the OER Foundation family of open access projects. As a community of scholars actively engaged in research, the WikiResearcher network can become a supportive environment to assist young researchers in improving their research capability and providing a production environment for authentic research output for integration as OER for post-graduate and undergraduate teaching materials.
We need your help and support in designing a successful WikiResearcher project -- Please add your thoughts and suggestions on our evolving brainstorm list.
